Rice
This project is a full magazine design, and the topic I chose is “being an Asian woman.” I named it Rice, simple, but meaningful. Rice is something most of us grew up with; it’s more than just food, it’s a part of our roots. In a way, we were all raised by rice. But for me, this wasn’t just about making a magazine; it became a way to reflect on myself and the society around me. Although the topic is heavy, I approached it through the lens of fashion, utilizing style, imagery, and layout to tell stories that are both personal and collective.
Rice is about bringing forward what’s been said, what hasn’t, and what’s still happening today, in a way that invites people to look, feel, and think.

BOWL
This was a team project, and my main role was developing the concept and leading the visual direction. I focused on shaping the overall aesthetic and ensuring the magazine felt cohesive.
BOWL magazine is about Asian food. For this issue, we focused on pork and how it appears in different dishes across Asia. Pork is a common ingredient, but it carries different cultural meanings depending on the region, comforting, celebratory, or deeply traditional. That’s why we placed the Chinese character “豬” on the cover, using its shape as a bold visual statement. It immediately communicates the theme while grounding the magazine in its cultural roots.
